d20 Encounters in psurlon-space
1. Psurlons masquerading as the crew of a ship. Giveaway that all is not well is the simultaneous reaction of dispersed 'crew' to something only one of them saw.
2. Repurposed mindflayer habitations - often webbed throughout with stairs and walkways to compensate for psurlons lesser psionic flight abilities
3. Carrion farms - where piles of victims are stored on the timeless astral
4. Ambush dioramas - set ups of people needing aid or assistance to facilitate competitive killing sprees. Looks like Bhaalist cult but is just psurlons hunting for fun
5. Neh-thagglu hatcheries - since psurlons do not particularly care for the brains of their victims, neh-thagglu's get them where there are no mindflayers about
6. Nosferatu-type vampires sometimes coexisting with psurlons, feasting on blood then passing off the drained victim to the psurlons
7. Bone-crunching birds and hounds dispose of those less-choice bits
8. Offal mulch pits - where Otyughs of various sizes can be found at particularly active outposts
9. Nursery pits - similiarly filled with gruesome remains but only inhabited by psurlon hatchlings
10. Bug pits - cultivating varieties whose sting or bite brings some non-lethal and desirable altered state
11. Grand theaters - taking full advantage of the shapeshifting abilities of psurlons, notable in that audience psurlons often match the costuming and join the 'extras' on stage
12. Mass mimicking of life elsewhere - with psurlons disguising themselves as other peoples and acting out life in their realms. Part practice for infiltration, part LARPing for fun. Typically githyanki settlements
13. Anti-zoo's - where non-psurlons are released among large gatherings of psurlons and amusement is derived from seeing how long until the 'zoo creature' notices
14. Upcycling workshops - psurlons hate and disdain crafting things but have a perverse respect for fixing or adapting things they steal from others. Kudos among psurlons is gained by having useful things to hand that look like you found them lying around
15. Raucous psurlon taverns - while hateful towards non-psurlons, among themselves they are merry gluttons with a cruel sense of humour
16. Thrall domination - fiends, celestials and other powerful pawns being subjugated as a tool for the community
17. Prisoner ranches - mostly for food but also with 'first hunt' yards for young psurlons to practice
18. Mass rites celebrated for their far-realm deities
19. Library of shapes - where many peoples and things are stored as references for shapeshifting
20. Competitive shapeshifting competitions, like very extended, whole-body rock-paper-scissor contests
21. Exiled or visiting mindflayers
22. Mindwitnessses 'liberated' from mindflayer use and turned into psychic hubs
23. Exotic pets -
24. Mud pools and wallows
25. Aboleth mirrors - a hapless victim dangled over an aboleth dwelling to pick up the psychic backwash of their dreams, then sampled telepathically by psurlons at a safe distance
26. Telephathic entertainments - two non-psurlons are sent into a labyrinth and have to find their way out with the only guidance the psychic shouts of spectator psurlons
27. Nautiloid hatcheries - incredibly prized, a functioning nautiloid hatchery is a priceless resource for a psurlon community
28. Githyanki marauders
29. Recycling and cleaning warehouses - like giant costuming departments, with everything taken from their many victims cleaned and available for dressing up and disguise
30. Repurposed illithid cultural artefacts
